As a long-time member and one whose visits to this site continue to decline, I see it as a natural progression, part of a similar transition the Democratic Party is experiencing.

Women Dems are finding their voice after many years of silent support of Dem candidates. The sexist attacks from fellow Dems resulting from Clinton's candidacy has been a potent and healthy wake up call to Dem women voters. Its a healthy change for them to become active again in talking about issues and candidates important to them and their vision of the Democratic Party.

Its not surprising there's some "push back" from traditional Dems and progressive independents, they're not accustomed to hearing women speak out. They'll have to get used to it, sorry.
