203. Judgement
I do not believe Mr. Obama is a racist, nor do I believe he should be held accountable for the sermons preached by Rev. Wright. Especially, "the statements that have been the subject of this controversy." However, Mr. Obama's presidential campaign has been focused on bringing about change and about questioning judgement. It appears, in listening to some of the language used by Rev. Wright, there are some undertones of racism. Also, Rev. Wright's connection to Louis Farrakhan, does not help Mr. Obama's situation.

It appears Mr. Obama's pronouncement in "vehemently disagreeing" and "strongly condeming" Rev. Wright's statements are a bit delayed. It is understood that Mr. Obama did not agree with the Reverend's statements back in January, as well. However, the relationship has been there amongst the two of them for the past twenty years. He himself, as well as, his children have been baptised by the Reverend, and I suppose I could believe that Mr. Obama never attended a sermon where some sort of racist overtone was projected; However, I find it difficult to believe that he was never aware, or never heard of any racist overtones of Rev. Wright's sermons.

It just seems to be another politician stating that they disagree with what someone says to suit their agenda. I don't see the change. I see another politician like John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney and so forth. Again, I don't believe Mr. Obama is a racist. But, I do question his connection, that has run deep for twenty years, with someone who is prejudice and important enough to baptise his children.
