25. Interesting thread...
I have had mixed experiences with politics and the family. My father is now in his sixties and went from being a hippie to a card-carrying Republican (literally).

On the other hand, when I called to tell my mother that I had sent $$$ to Sen. Obama's campaign, she told me that she had, too!

My father and I really got into it when bush* was ushered in in 2000 and the acrimony continued for years. He used to forward all kinds of lame right-wing emails until I told him that we needed to agree not to talk about politics ever again. Obviously, I have not talked to him about this election season.

I cherish both of my parents equally, of course.
