He is doing just fine thank you without going through Smiley.

Did you know that Obama is involved with the National Urban League's "State of Black America?" (which has been around much longer than Tavis' event). He spoke at the NAACP and the National Urban League conferences last year (so did Hillary). He participated in the Essence Cares Festival. And he's getting 80% of the black vote. Obviously, he is communicating just fine with black folk, even without Tavis Smiley acting as our gatekeeper.
