21. The ignore button is your friend
I think I've used it once in my entire DU experience, and that was related to comments made about an incident regarding hockey.

I, too would love to see creative, informative, and well thought out threads that champion candidates without insults and degradation. I think the only way to make that happen is the judicious and frequent use of the ignore button, and prolific posting of threads that do inform and discuss the issues before us.

Pretty soon this place will become the forum you seek, and DU will live up to it's potential.
