49. What is your analysis of the situation?
The first question is, can we agree on "where we are"?

Do we live in a functioning Democratic Republic governed as outlined in our Constitution or not?

If the answer is yes, if we agree that the elections are (for the most part) fair, then we are bound by its covenants.

On the other hand, when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

How best to achieve that aim -- how to get from the 'here' where we are to the 'there' where we want to be -- becomes the next question. And for that one has to understand the nature of how the machinery of tyranny actually works. The wisdom of serpents and the gentility of doves.

Free your mind, Neo, and your body will follow.
