138. You may not follow, but there was reason that led from one
observation to the other. Bigotry in this case is in the eye of the beholder - because it was Dyson who mentioned Africans seeing Obama as one of their own. It may seen natural to you, but I come from a tribal society ... so my perception to such a remark would be different.

What does a need for attention mean? What do you think? It has nothing to do with race ... that's for sure.

The post started w/an observation of a child's innocent behavior. It made me wonder about the more guarded behavior of the adults ... but I hadn't yet seen Michelle's performance. Thinking back to Oprah's involvement, which concerns me because of, frankly, the question of whether this media giant - who gives away automobiles to her audience - would have campaigned for someone who wasn't African American. Dyson's use of the word "tribe" as loosely as he did carried other implications straight out of today's headlines.

Now, that these ideas came together in my mind for a question about this new Camelot-like scene is my personal thought process, which I've explained as clearly as I can. If it's still incoherent to you, I apologize for not communicating more clearly. But there's nothing bigoted or prejudice ... it's the exact opposite: I'm responding to what I'm actually noticing, not what I bring from my personal history.
