65. I get your point, or at least...
a point out of this.

Very simply, Ron Paul's message (whatever that may be) resonates with more people than Kucinich's. A lot more.

It's not the media, it's not the supporters, it's not anything but Paul tells people what they WANT to hear. He gives them hope that they will soon need tax loopholes. False hope, but it's what they want to hear-- do your thing and we'll keep the government off your back.

What's Kucinich's message? Liberal guilt-- how we gotta work harder to make this thing work, how we gotta spend more on things we don't wanna spend on, do stuff we don't wanna do...

Bullshit you say? Maybe, but that's what people hear, and it's why conservative talk radio and conservative churches and mosques have been eating us alive. And why a joke like Ron Paul gets thousands of people to send in the big bucks.

They offer us a free lunch.

Or at least what looks like a free lunch.

-Kucinich's "money bomb" BOMBS. Paul raises $6 million. FlyingSquirrel  Dec-17-07 03:42 PM   #0
  - Depressing :(  polichick   Dec-17-07 03:43 PM   #1
  - Not to me. Kucinich is fine in the house, I don't think he would be a good president  stuartrida   Dec-18-07 08:49 AM   #100
  - Isn't that a big number for Kucinich? nt.  IndianaJones   Dec-17-07 03:45 PM   #2
  - For him, yes. But his campaign was hoping for "millions"  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 03:49 PM   #3
  - I don't think it was the right time for Dennis  lvx35   Dec-17-07 03:49 PM   #4
  - I think you've put your finger on the problem right there  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 03:55 PM   #8
  - So first you say you agree that it's the wealth of the supporters...  redqueen   Dec-17-07 04:01 PM   #13
  - That only partially explains it. In that one day, 58,000 contributed to his campaign. That's BIG.  Selatius   Dec-17-07 04:03 PM   #17
     - I'd be interested to know to what extent you're right.  lvx35   Dec-17-07 04:12 PM   #26
        - I don't think it's an issue of that. Paul's base is simply much larger because of disaffected Repubs  Selatius   Dec-17-07 04:22 PM   #36
           - I'm curious about what you say.  lvx35   Dec-17-07 04:42 PM   #47
              - No, it's pretty easy to find out how much support he has.  Occam Bandage   Dec-17-07 05:28 PM   #66
  - That breaks me heart a tiny bit :(  rAVES   Dec-17-07 03:51 PM   #5
  - we have contributed four times now  cyclezealot   Dec-17-07 03:52 PM   #6
  - Who do you support?  redqueen   Dec-17-07 03:54 PM   #7
  - At this point, actually I support Edwards.  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 03:57 PM   #9
     - I don't agree with that at all. Ron Paul's average may be $50, but that average means squat.  redqueen   Dec-17-07 03:58 PM   #11
        - Would Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo be better candidates to compare Kucinich to?  Freddie Stubbs   Dec-17-07 04:06 PM   #19
        - Compare him to santa claus for all I care. (nt)  redqueen   Dec-17-07 04:09 PM   #22
        - I doubt that Paul's supporters know squat about what he wants to do  orangepeel68   Dec-18-07 10:21 AM   #109
  - awesome! you're just the kind of DUer we need  sniffa   Dec-17-07 03:58 PM   #10
  - Ain't he great?  redqueen   Dec-17-07 03:59 PM   #12
  - In the words of my wife... "I cannot roll my eyes any further."  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 04:02 PM   #14
     - No, I don't have extra money. I'm a single mom.  redqueen   Dec-17-07 04:07 PM   #20
     - Then quit attacking me.  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 04:13 PM   #27
        - I believe you and the moon has green cheese  penguin7   Dec-17-07 04:15 PM   #30
        - Here's my e-mail address.. send me one and I'll send you a picture  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 04:18 PM   #32
           - now that raises the stakes. nt.  IndianaJones   Dec-17-07 04:19 PM   #33
        - What's coming out of you is an ad for how much better Ron Paul is. (nt)  redqueen   Dec-17-07 04:20 PM   #34
           - Have it your way, I'm done arguing. nt  FlyingSquirrel   Dec-17-07 04:22 PM   #37
              - It's not my way. I didn't advertise for Ron Paul in the subject line or OP,  redqueen   Dec-17-07 04:39 PM   #44
              - Wow, like High School! I gave on the 15th as well. Again Thanks... n/t  mirrera   Dec-18-07 09:07 AM   #105

     - I think you're making up an offense that isn't there.  MonkeyFunk   Dec-17-07 05:07 PM   #49
        - They are fringe candidates. Both anti-war. That's where the similarities end.  redqueen   Dec-17-07 05:08 PM   #50
           - But nobody's pretending anything else  MonkeyFunk   Dec-17-07 05:14 PM   #53
              - Again... not for reporting... for the way it's reported.  redqueen   Dec-17-07 05:15 PM   #55
                 - And what was wrong with how it was reported?  MonkeyFunk   Dec-17-07 05:20 PM   #60
                    - I guess the difference in the way we're looking at it ...  redqueen   Dec-17-07 05:22 PM   #62
