What you say isn't true, of course, but it's no wonder you take flak for it; allow me to add to it.

Teachers work incredibly hard; if you don't actively like children that work would be unendurable.

There are a few who burn out; the vast majority don't.

My guess, for what it's worth, is that your claim is based on a small number of bad personal experiences that have left your perceptions permanently warped.
