Without those qualities, no candidate can win - no matter their qualifications. Look at John Kerry. Supremely qualified, but couldn't close the deal.

Obama is incredibly charimatic. It does't hurt that he generally talks sensibly showing he's not just some empty suit.

After watching Obama speak at the 2004 Convention, I declared "Edwards/Obama 2012." At the time, I hoped that Edwards would serve two terms as Kerry's VP then run for President with Obama as his running mate. Now I just have to move up my "dream ticket" by four years.
