18. Obama displayed his strengths but, once again, where's the beef?

He continues to offer platitude after platitude. Aside from health care, did he say what exactly he was going to do on anything?

On the plus side, he was consistently strong. In the last debate he was very inconsistent, sometimes very poor, other times very strong. It seems his inexperience showed last time. This time he did not stumble on any question and stuck to his (strong) talking points and his powerful (powerful in the it would focus group well sense), albeit, generic rhetoric.

==he is a unifier who can brings people together.==

That is the main theme of his campaign. We need to discuss this. First, is that feasible? Second, what are the costs of seeking to unify (what concessions will have to be made to the Republicans to achieve this?)? However, this is a feel-good thread for Obama supporters so I ask that discussion of these important questions regarding Obama be deferred to another day. I just wanted to point this out because people are assuming "unity" is easy to achieve and comes free of charge.

One other thing. I remember someone else who campaigned on "unity" in 2000...
