In the first place, a person is responsible for his own lying and his own actions. Second, all the things Bush did - for which he is responsible - were not predicable consequences of Bill lying. Second of all, it was BILL'S guess of Hillary's reaction, which was clearly wrong because though very hurt after repeating his lies (because he lied to her) for 6 months, she learned the truth.

In fact, consider the alternative - that he had told the truth. The worst that would have happened is that Hillary would have divorced him after his term was over. There would still have been some disgust that he had sex with a young intern in the White House. There would have been no impeachment. No Republican over reaching and the same desire to want "honor and dignity in the White House" leading to Bush.
