John Edwards was a big help, but really only in that one area (which, yes, I realize was huge, but he really had nothing to do with Bill's policies). Hillary has been by his side helping him for decades (a lot of times behind the scenes, but obviously not always).

Have you read the book "The Survivor" by John F. Harris? It is, I think a very balanced look at Bill's presidency, and until reading it, I hadn't realize how much of an impact Hillary had had during his presidency. He consulted her on just about everything.

Edit to add: and she did travel to 80+ countries during his presidency, and was well-received in that kind of a position.
