111. Wes Clark was a first-class candidate who made a third-rate showing...
I do not feel that this showing had to do with his agenda, which addressed the main issues on voters minds..healthcare reform, the national debt, and the catastrophic condition of our nation's security. If Al Gore had run on the agenda Clark did, he would of won by a landslide. It wasn't because of Iowa that he did poorly, I still think Clark would of done even worse had he participated in Iowa.

Clark's agenda was finely tuned to win over the votes of independents and conservative Democrats more than it was for the party's base..this is why the nominee should embrace much of this agenda for the fall. It could be argued that Clark would of been more successful running as an independent candidate for President. Although his message did not win him any primaries other than Oklahoma, it is clear that such independents and moderates are ticked at the current administration and are looking for a new outlet for such a message. The question is can we win over these people, so they are not just another swing group..but an active segment of our party's base?

Only the nominee can answer this question. Clark helped show the way, now we can follow his lead!
