this is just dynamite:

I can tell you a major reason that Kansas is bluer in 2007 than it was in 2005 is Dean's 50 state strategy. We got real DNC support for the first time in my memory and it made a difference in more state legislators, more precinct activity, etc. We have a Dem governor, AG and two out of four US Representatives are Dems for the first time in decades, I think.

AMAZING

Of course, let's not kid ourselves. It helped enormously that the whole country couldn't escape getting a belly just plum FULL of the Republicans and BUsh. BUT, and I think this is key -- it was Dean who got us into a position (thru the 50 state strategy) to take advantage of that. And that's no small matter.
