He was out of the country and didn't come back until the National Cathedral service.
But my recollection is that we were bombarded with 24/7 coverage of every Republican operative within a 20-mile radius of a camera telling us not only how great Reagan was, but using it as a non-stop free commercial for Bush's 2004 campaign.
