Phelps has never been successful in any campaign for elected office on the Democratic ticket. That alone speaks volumes.

Bottom line: he's a nutjob who does what he does not for any party, not for any cause, but for Fred Phelps. He probably registered as a Democrat just to be a boil on our collective butt. The only thing he has in common with Democrats is that he has two eyes, two ears, a nose and a mouth; in his case though, both eyes are blind to the truth, both ears are deaf to any voice but his, he cannot smell the reek of his own putrid stench, and his mouth is ALWAYS engaged in spewing lies, filth and hatred.
