31. No, because it doesn't help
If I thought it would do the slightest bit of good, I might even be desperate enough to try it ... and this from an avowed atheist. But it doesn't help. There's nobody listening. If there were fairness and justice in the universe, Dubya would have been sent packing back in 2000 because he LOST, and all the vile schemers that pulled every dirty trick to get him installed, would have been sent packing with him. The disaster that the country and the world spiralled into as a result, would never have occurred. It's been one horror story after another, and no 'god' has lifted a finger to stop it. (And nothing will make me believe that 'god' as he's generally portrayed, would approve of these theives and liars!) The worst of the worst have gotten away with every crime, when meanwhile the good people have gone down in flames (some literally - think Paul Wellstone), and every glimmer of hope is crushed. If Dubya is selected a second time, by hook or by crook, the worst is surely yet to come. Praying about it, alone, won't make the slightest bit of difference - though if it makes people feel better to do so, I can't fault them. Everyone has their ways of coping and centering themselves, so it's not my intent to disparage anyone. But we all need to remember that we actually have to do the work ourselves.
