57. Thanks are in order to the Patriot's that day:
How about this suggestion? If one of these Patriots are your congressional Patriots, give their office a call today to thank them again! I'm sure they'll be overjoyed to revisit the anniversary!!

This is from www.ThankYouPatriot.com.

Leaders of Principle

In his book Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community, Martin Luther King wrote, "And so we shall have to do more than register and more than vote; we shall have to create leaders who embody virtues we can respect, who have moral and ethical principles we can applaud with enthusiasm." On January 6, 2005, thirty-two courageous members of Congress, in the face of dismissive rhetoric from the majority party, challenged the results of the Ohio Electors of the 2004 presidential election in protest of the disenfranchisement of thousands of Ohio voters, and on behalf of all citizens of the United States of America. Their purpose was to begin a dialogue that would culminate in sorely needed election reform so that the problems in Ohio would never be repeated in any state. In so doing, these thirty-two members of Congress proved themselves to be "leaders who embody virtues we can respect, who have moral and ethical principles" that we applaud with great enthusiasm. This site is the thunderous sound of that applause.

Senator Barbara Boxer D - California

Thank you Sen. Barbara Boxer, for having the courage to join with Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones in her challenge to the Electors. One signature from one Senator was all that was required, but it was a true act of patriotism. We applaud your bravery with great enthusiasm!

Rep. John Conyers D - Michigan

Thank you Congressman John Conyers, ranking Democrat of the House Judiciary Committee, for hearing the voices of the disenfranchised voters of Ohio and acting upon their complaints immediately by leading the request for a GAO investigation into the election. We applaud your determination to uncover the truth with great enthusiasm!

Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones D - Ohio

Thank you Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones for stepping forward and fighting for the voting rights of your constituents - and for every American - by drafting the challenge to the Electors. You hold the umbrella over the heads of thousands of people who stood in the rain and cold for hours just to exercise their fundamental right to choose those who govern over them, only to have many of their votes discarded. We applaud your unfailing loyalty to the citizens of your state with great enthusiasm!

Thank you...
to the Reverend Jesse Jackson, who, for decades, has worked tirelessly to ensure that every American - every human being - is treated with respect and is afforded equal rights under the law. He continues to fight for voting rights in America for every citizen, and to ensure that voter disenfranchisement never happens again - not in Ohio, not in Florida, not anywhere. A special thank you goes out to him for participating in the House Judiciary Committee's forums on the 2004 election, which helped to raise national awareness about the problems in Ohio. Rev. Jackson, we applaud you with great enthusiasm!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And thank you...
to the twenty-nine members of Congress who stood to defend the rights of all Americans and spoke out in protest of the voter disenfranchisement in Ohio. These leaders of principle all voted "yea" in support of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Senator Barbara Boxer's challenge to the Ohio Electoral vote. For many of these great Americans, this is not the first time they have exhibited courage in speaking a truth that no one wants to hear. For those who stood alone on behalf of the disenfranchised voters of Florida in the 2000 election, we shower you with thanks. And for all of those pictured below, we applaud you with great enthusiasm and pride.
