| Back During The Run Up To The '04 Pres Election I Asked A * Supporter.... |
|
(a friend of mine) why he is supporting *. My friend just happens to be a pharmacist. He also is very wrapped up in his job and family and doesn't have the time to really get into what is really going on in this country (which is not an excuse).
My friend and * supporter told me the following story:
"He heard from a good friend that a gentleman (a pharmacist) had an audience with *. This gentleman's wife was suffering from cancer and in his conversation with * he mentioned it to *. This is when * grabbed his hand and knelt down and said a prayer for this man's wife."
My friend said when he heard this he was impressed. My friend is a very devout Catholic and he said he admired this action that * took and he sees * as a very good Christian.
This is what took him over the top and had him vote for * in '00.
Here's what I think. I think that the above story was floated around the country and the profession of the gentleman whose wife had cancer was changed to fit the situation in which a vote was trying to be won (i.e., for a plumber - the gentleman that had and audience with * was a plumber, for a fireman - the gentleman was a fireman, etc)
Can anybody confirm this for me.
It is the silliest thing I've ever heard of for voting for *.
(by the way my friend is still my friend - even though he voted for *)
