36. America must hit rock bottom under repubs.
As one who was totally against people voting nader in 2000, i can not subscribe to the current ABB movement. The democratic party must no longer be complicit in taking america down the destructive path it is on. Kerry's democratic party has sold out america and every decent thing this party is supposed to stand for one time too many. His whole 'veteran, tough on defense' sales pitch is a validation of the worst aspects of conservatism and bush's criminal, lie-based war. It is time for liberalism to forcefully make the case for itself, instead of cravenly denying and apologizing for itself. Howard Dean did that, and then when the moment of truth in the voting booth came, democratic voters showed themselves to be the snivelling wimps their opponents have always said they were. The way I see it, it would not be a bad thing if the democratic party lost in 2004 after abandoning and denying its base yet again, and to have America hit rock bottom under total republican control. Maybe that is what it will take for some strong democratic leaders to rise from the ashes and finally get the support they deserve.
