History is doomed to repeat itself - The Press has been here before.

Our press has gone to Yellow Journalism, it was started by Regan but has truly hit us over the past 5 years of the 15 it has been showing an obvious downward spiral.

The present list of crimes are
Infiltration of Public Broadcasting
Fake News
Bribed Journalists
Propoganda disguised as News
Uninvestigated Transluscent Lie
Cleansed Dissentors
Weakened the Freedom of Information Act
Secret Meetings with Corporate Interests
Consolidated Media

In the days of William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer the media was just as consolidated. Both of these men who are spoken of in such respect were horrible Yellow Journalists. They wrote sensational Anti-Spanish stories; yet, they are equaled by the likes today by the likes of Rupert Murdoch (Fox), Richard D. Parson (Time Warner), and Michael Eisner (Disney). The Media has become so consolidated that it is considered that 7 people control the Media of America off the internet.

This consolidation has been slowly forming since the 1960s and is highly unhealthy for the country. It was unhealthy a century ago and it's unhealthy now. Idealy there should be a minimum of 150 media owners, 3 for every single state, or more, to ensure that news is not only trasmitted, but investigated. It is true it woulld cause some problems in the short term, yet, it is vital that we have a diverse and hungry media. THe GAO is the Government's watchdog and the Media is charged with the job to watchdog the government, businesses and gather information that we cannot readily access.

At the turn of the last century our country was tricked into a war by the Yellow Jounralists that used it for an increase of circulation of their newspapers. This misinformation caused the Spanish American War. Today Misinformation spread by a compliant, puppy-dogish media brought us to a war that has cost 2100 lives, the same amount as were lost in Vietname at about the same point in time. There is no honor for our troops to continue to be there, we should not have been there, much like the Spanish American war and the Vietnam war.

WE THE PEOPLE, in order to protect our best interests of ourselves must stand together and demand of our representatives that the truth come out completely. We do not want, need nor should we expect our news to be controlled by the interests of the few at the cost of our livelyhood, children's education, lives of our soldiers, health of our economy, progress of medicine, actual reality of a threat instead of hype, the lives of people in other countries and the world in general.

I understand there are some things about a government that needs to remain secret on some level, that level should be very low, mainly directly involving strategies and placement of secret agents and formulas for dangerous weaponry and the like. That's about it.

There are few secrets past that should be kept from the American people. In a bid fo war we should have as much access as the UN, Congress and the President get. There are no excuses that can be made for this, at this point the American people have been failed not once, but time and again.

We the people must demand a transparent government or we will be led into yet another travesty. The population is being kept in ignorance by those who would have this Democratic Republic United States to a Capitolistic Empire of Rome. We all know how Rome ended up, don't we?
