58. Did so, and with a few words....
Cindy Sheehan gets the nod over Parick Fitzgerald for tw reasons. 1) She became the conscience of America, in a way similar to that of another great American woman, Rosa Parks. Her simple question "What noble cause?" echoes Rosa Parks's simple act. Both women refused to be "put in their place," literally and figuratively. Both called the bluff of a lie and shamed the media into doing its job. 2) Patrick Fitzgerald's work has just begun.
Many others deserve consideration, of course, but I think Cindy Sheehan exemplifies the real values America wants to export: a single, seemingly insignificant, individual compelled by the ethical imperative of "no" to "speak truth to power."
