18. Although I doubt Bruce would want to be Senator
The comments he made before the Madison Wi speech about the needs of people not making it in this country visibly moved Senator Kerry, They were neither trite nor simplictic. He genuinely understands the problems on both an intellectual and a personal level. He also has been very involved in helping deal with Asbury Park's troubles

At this point he could sound like a scuffier, NJ version of Edwards, but Edwards was a lawyer and probably had ideas on how laws could be changed to improve things. I would guess Springsteen may see that his best way of effecting change is through his music.
