23. Switch from Dean to Edwards...?
Sorry...choosing Edwards to block Kerry is merely a case of choosing one IWR-backing "pink tutu" over another. I know there's a case for "holding your nose and voting against Bush" in the General Election, but I'm going to find it real hard to vote for anyone who rubber-stamped the PNAC vision.

Meanwhile, I notice the DLC is practically reaching sexual climax over Dean's troubles, claiming that it "proves" that Dean's backers were never more than a tiny faction of "upscale, white, antiwar liberals" out of touch with the Democratic Party, which is the "winner" for Dean's defeat. Maybe that's true. Maybe I'm completely out of touch with all but a small minority of us Internet types who are only fooling ourselves in believing that we ever represented the wave of the future, or that we can ever hope for more than a choice between Republicans and Republicans Lite. The DLC celebrates that, by rejecting Dean, Democrats "have chosen hope over anger." Maybe...but I find little hope in the current surrender to the politics of the status-quo, where being pro-PATRIOT act and IWR are the only acceptable political opinions. Maybe I and my views are no more at home in the Democratic Party than I would be amongst the Republicans, and with no other viable option. Maybe I should join in with Treebeard and say, "Side? I am on no one's side...for no one is on my side."

:-(
