Because the Democratic Party doesn't own the principle of democracy and free speech.

If this is a "one-way-debates" type of place, I sure didn't get it as such. By the way, most "Dem bashers" just point out the fact that, yes, the Dems have been doing a few good shots recently but we have to remember that they've been silent - or approved! - on a lot of subjects, including the Iraq war and the countless scandals of the Bush administration.

Clinging to blind hope won't help. It is important to remain critical and that is what a lot of people have been trying to do.
