Wilson, FDR and JFK hid illnesses. Wilson's wife as a de facto president, and JFK was a profile in courage, considering how he functioned with a debilitating illness. Grant's drinking was well known. At some point, though, the media will pounce on a politician whose addictions or weaknesses show through.

Or maybe not. Look at the Oxy Moron.
