I like your letter, but I'm one of the choir members.
If your purpose is to scold and chastise those who voted for Bush8 (and I don't understand it either), then it sure does that.

If your purpose is to convert souls, then I think you need a slightly different approach. The honey vs. vinegar thing.

I've had several letters published. I rarely mention Bush by name. I usually point out a bad situation, a wrong decision, and ask questions which I think the reader can answer only one way. I try to be a little subtle, but not so subtle that the yahoos don't get it. We got lots of yahoos down here.

I live in a small town, and my name is in the phone book.
To date I have gotten only one call, and that was in support of what I wrote.

The Saturday before Katrina hit, they published a letter where I quoted Goering's prison interview where he said that it was a simple matter for a country's leader to bring them into a war.

I merely gave the circumstances of, and quoted, the interview, with the ending comment "Could it happen here? Has it?"

I did not call Bush* Hitler, nor did I directly compare his regime with that of the nazis. But I certainly left it an open question for the reader to consider.
