19. Between the lines
1) Feeding into the idea that all of the violence in Iraq is a result of vacationing jihadists undermines everything that many anti-war activists are trying to do. Some of those opposed to US occupation or Shiia rule are from surrounding countries. But Biden is refusing to understand the nature of the tribal relationships, the willingness of Arabs to protect their lands and dignity, and the intrinsic negative contagion of an occupation.

To think that Biden has ever been considered for the post of SoS is horrifying. What is worse, he thinks that he is qualified.

2) During the debate over the $87 billion dollars a proposal was made to withhold approval for these funds until the regime presented the senate with a plan for "success" and an accounting of how the money would be spent. Biden voted against this Democratic maneuver, and proudly announced on "Meet The Press" that he, Biden, was more political cleaver than Kerry or Clark for having assumed such a "pro-troop" position.

If not for the Biden-Clinton-etc Democrats, those troops might have had a fighting chance, and this war might have had an end.

Too little too late for Biden.
