146. Where else are you going to get that information?
You need to do some reading -- I wrote about this back in the 1980's when virtually no one took the time to read a PDR (and pharmacists weren't refusing the prescriptions). In the early 1990's I had some differences of opinion with established choice groups because they didn't want this information out (ask why you won't find it on a left leaning site), while I felt that it was important both for those women, who because of their religious beliefs, would chose not to use the pill, and for those who would be persuaded to rethink the issue if they knew they could lose their birth control pills over it.

I have also had this fight with the right wing, who, because they don't want to give up their birth control pills or can't deal with the guilt because they have been using them, feel as you do, that the birth contol pill only has one action, but you are simply wrong -- it has three. Low dose pills have an even greater break through ovulation rate than the earlier generation of high does hormones.

Since when is an abortifacient defined as that which removes an IMPLANTED embryo? The dictionary meaning is expulsion in the first 12 weeks -- not the first twelve weeks of pregnancy -- if that were the case, you would be correct. I assume you have read that the OB/GYN's only redetermined that a pregnancy is when there is an implantation about the time of the birth control pills emergence.

Finally, less than 6 months ago I had to take down the PDR and quote page numbers to a right winger who was trying to tell me I was wrong. As long as the PDR's list a hostile womb environment as an action, I am going to believe it.
