Don't forget the ROAR of the grassroots that pushed for Howard Dean to be elected chair of the DNC. The cozy, incestuous, "inside-the-Beltway" status quo crowd laughed and sneered - and I'm talking OUR OWN fellow Democrats. Well, the ROAR of the grassroots sure showed them, didn't it?

I guess I must. Because if this is true, these Senators didn't get into this without LOTS of pushing and demanding and urging and letter-writing and phone-calling and emailing and faxing and pleading and begging and nagging. They didn't just wake up one fine day and say "HMMM, I think we ought to investigate this Jeff Gannon business." They did it because they heard a ROAR. A ROAR from US. Believe me, if we hadn't made a big noise and stink about this, they would not do any such thing. The only roaring they're used to hearing is from the other side. This time, it's coming from OUR side, and they must have noticed. Truly. It made an impression, guys. It's had an impact already. They'd go back to being doormats if they figured nobody gave a damn. Because, up til recently that's all they've heard - people insisting they be doormats.

And guess what? Times have changed. We're not in the doormat business anymore. WE ARE UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. DEAL WITH IT.
