slowly...maybe that will help..now let me know if I am posting too fast for you.

So..over the Clinton years we lost over 800 seats nationwide. That included seats in state legislatures where we get to DRAW congressional districts.

In 94 we lost congress via the Gingrich revolution and yes we regained a few of those seats. In the MEANTIME, however, states continued to get laws on ballots that served to DEFUND the Democratic party such as Right to Work laws. Certaily as president Clinton had opportunities to fortify the party, however, we LOST ground in many states where the whole Monica thing played poorly..and I know you can cite his 68% approval rating..what you can't cite is how it divides amongst the electoral college.

THEREFORE...by the time Clinton left office, while his legacy MAY HAVE MADE HIM look good..it resulted in a WEAKENING of the party via all the seats we lost in states where districts have now been gerrymandered...in favor of Republicans which makes taking back congress ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE. If there is a SINGLE Democrat whose POLICIES that can be traced to...it's BILL CATER TO THE RIGHT WING CLinton.
