Bad ideas can win over good ideas just as an inferior products can win over superior products if they have more advertising. Ideas do matter, but they will have no impact if they are not heard. There is nothing in the right wing republican agenda talking points which wouldn't fall apart like paper boats in rough water in a fair, and open debate, but if your superior ideas are denigrated,if not entirely buried while the inferior ideas are sold as if they are the greatest thing,if the debate is dominated by the power of the opposition's media, then your ideas have no chance because no one hears them.
