Probe of USS Cole Bombing Unravels

What if...

This is the scenario that might have played out in Yemen and the one that still bothers O'Neill's former allies and supporters. For them, it is conceivable that, in the end, John O'Neill would have been able to learn about that critical January 2000 meeting in Malaysia, and to start connecting the dots that ultimately led to Sept. 11, 2001.

Note that the WAPO article neglects to mention Amb. Bodine refused to grant country clearance to the FBI after the initial trip to investigate the Cole bombing. Bodine went on to work for the CPA in Baghdad.

The last investigation of FBI agent John O'Neil? The Cole bombing. O'Neil was later killed in the WTC on 9-11, the first day of his new job there as Chief of Security...
