do you think perhaps they do things slightly differently? The Saudi royal family depends on an intricate web of personal and family ties to maintain control - the Mafia might be a better comparison than a democracy like America.

Before he became ambassador to the US, he was officially name as an adviser to the Saudi Court. He is one of the inner circle.
