But that stuff in itself wouldn't make me dismiss it out of hand. I detest the term "woo" and never use it myself. It's a lazy, sloppy and condescending way of dismissing aspects of experience some people don't want to think about. But I know people who take "high strangeness" quite seriously, including some who claim to be contactees and abductees. As for me personally, I'm what you might call a sympathetic skeptic in that area. I don't swallow everything whole, but neither do I automatically dismiss it.

In any case I only skimmed quickly over the high strangeness part of the manifesto, so I have no opinion of it one way or the other as yet. By "common knowledge to the progressive movement" I meant the parts of it dealing with overpopulation and ecology.
