2. Interesting catch
You've also got the father's statement where he says that his son was the Arabs' "best friend," which could be interpretted differently in light of this trail of information (i.e. Nicholas might have hated Israel; an anti-Israel book might have been what was interpretted as "anti-Semetic").

However, we also know that Nicholas himself is Jewish, at least ethnically, which would not endear him to neo-Nazis. We also know that he had an Israeli stamp on his passport (which is according to some sources what drew the suspicion of the Iraqi police).

The big picture in this puzzle eludes me, though. What does this all mean?
