What are you talking about? I would hardly call the deaths of Palestinian militants as "systematic shooting". Fighting the militants is necessary for Israel's safety, and regrettably some civillians are caught in the crossfire. Civillian death is always to be avoided in any conflict (except when most of the rules are off the table, such as in WWII area bombing). I know Israelis who served in the IDF and fought in the West Bank. They are by no means monsters and they say that all their comrades tried to avoid killing civillians.
I think in the US it is easy to make the Israelis look like the bad guys. Our terrorist opponents live thousands of miles away for the most part. Israeli citizens, even those who live in "Israel proper" (although I think Israel has a right to some or all of the West Bank) make their homes only a few kilometers from the hotbeds of terrorism. You can imagine the kind of pressure this puts on IDF soldiers. I feel bad for Israelis and the Palestinians, but I believe the IDF has the moral high ground over Hamas and PFLP.
