it just "sounds" like one is "saying i'm sorry, didn't mean it, but...." etc- sort of a "wimpy agreement with policies-but thats not the actual definition. i can be clearly defined as an israeli apologist, an american apologist, a hamas apologist (some of their policies i agree with), etc
for me it just sounds "apologetic", which is why I don't like its use, but its clearly the correct term.
