62. what do you get for calling other posters liars?
"That's what I get for taking the word of other posters at face value...."

What exctly did I (ALLEGEDLY) give you my "word" about?

And let's not play semantics. "Taking the word" of someone means "believe the statement" made by the person, about something that the person wanted one to believe. But heck -- feel free to say you misspoke, and were not accusing me of misleading you about something by making false statements. I'll understand completely, and forgive your unintended transgression without reservation.

I was asked, by slackmaster in post # 27:

"Answer this question honestly:
Does New Jersey prohibit wearing ANY kind of weapon as a fashion accessory?"

Why don't we ask slackmaster why s/he asked me that question? What the hell DID New Jersey have to do with anything??

Shall I allege that slackmaster was giving me his/her word that New Jersey was the subject of discussion?

Nope. I'm not disingenuous.

ALL of the posts in which I referred to New Jersey post-dated that question. I appear to have been misled -- my guess being that I was misled entirely innocently, by someone who made an entirely innocent and pretty bloody irrelevant mistake. Not something I'm likely to sputter about, or pretend was either deliberate or relevant to anything.

I gave no one my word that we were talking about New Jersey. I asked no one to "take the word" I did not give. And yet someone seems to be suggesting that he "took my word" for something, and that my word was false. I'd have a follow-up suggestion about what somebody might do with my words, but some things should be left to the imagination.

And while I have not the slightest idea why slackmaster would have introduced New Jersey into the discussion, I'm certainly not going to say that I "took his/her word" on that or anything else. Apart from not being someone who makes unfounded allegations, I'm not someone who enjoys chasing colourful fish off on silly tangents.
