An SKS is a relatively low-powered, short-range rifle, not a sniper rifle. I think the correct scaremonger term you're supposed to use for the SKS is "assault weapon" or somesuch; get your cue cards straight.

Your aspersion is kind of silly, since anyone with a clean record and some cash can buy an
actual "sniper rifle," e.g. a high-powered bolt-action set up for precision shooting, ranging from a $500 Remington M700 .30-06 to a $5000+ Accuracy International .338 Lapua Magnum.
