Like drugs and everything else contraband, there is always a market for it. Since the market will bring higher prices for selling XYZ thing to a prohibited consumer, it creates incentive for gun dealers and such to break the law. It creates incentive for thieves to steal guns, to re-sell.

I'd be on-board with full registration, except that the Government has abused registration in the past to confiscate weapons, so, I have no pull with fellow gun owners on pushing forward full registration.
