One dead in robbery at dry cleaners

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a pair of men tried to rob a store in northwest Harris County. One was shot dead by the owner and the other is on the run.

Sheriff's deputies say the manager saw two men approach the store and pull masks over their faces. As they entered the store, he saw the men reach into their waistbands.


"One or both of the males reached into their waistbands and started messing around with their waistbands and (the manager) fired at them, evidently striking one of them, maybe striking two.

One died outside, the other may be wounded. A good shoot 2-1 and the one won.
