67. Another battle analogy? "Swords" or perhaps "hanguns at ten paces?"

Hey, the last thing I wish to do is completely piss you off but you also must realize that "talking down" to someone who is not as conversant in firearms is not THE ANSWER.

Virginia Tech is in my neighborhood. Ask the parents of the children who were slaughtered what they think of "gun control" and you will get a much more emotionally charged, and understandable, response.

My point: Regardless of what you say about the "upstanding" character of all the good citizens who are granted concealed weapons permits by the score from day to day, I seriously doubt that too many more people other than law enforcement truly need such licenses.

With regard to semi-automatic rifles, they should be strictly monitored so that they can NOT fall in the hands of criminals.

I've already mentioned that both "target sport" and "hunting" are thoughtful examples for exceptions to a semi-auto rifle ban. That said, if you have to separately shoot a half dozen rounds into your prey, you just may need to consider another sport.

I respect the fact that you seemingly have "a wealth of knowledge" regarding firearms, we are not arguing that point. All I'm putting forward is THE FACT that firearms far too often fall into the wrong hands and that stricter GUN LEGISLATION need not be a sport shooter's or rural prey hunter's enemy.
