| 65. I believe that you have set up a "straw man". |
No one has advocated allowing "everyone" to carry in public. All that is being proposed is allowing those who are currently legally allowed to carry concealed deadly weapons when in public to continue to be allowed to do so when on a college campus. Given that individuals legally allowed to carry concealed deadly weapons in states that grant such permits to citizens on a "shall-issue" basis have, statistically, been less prone to committing violent crime than the general population and given that there do exist college campuses where such citizens are currently allowed to carry concealed deadly weapons wherein such individuals have not committed violent crimes while on campuses, I do not understand the opposition to such a proposal. Many opponents suggest that hypothetical negative consequences will be commonplace even though in areas where campus carry is allowed, such consequences have not manifested in reality.
| -Will concealed-carry in public places become a cause on campus? |
