| 41. The ban expired over two years ago |

Where are the rivers of blood? And, gee, didn't Columbine and the North Hollywood Shoot-Out occur DURING the ban? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Hollywood_shootout http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbine_shooting Criminals don't usually use them because they are too big. You can't saw off a barrel on an AK or an AR because they are gas-operated. Shortening the barrel screws up the reloading mechanism and the gun won't work. Not enough gas pressure to cycle the bold. And for the short range that most criminal activities take place, a sawed-off pump or double shotgun is more effective. And far cheaper. cut off the barrel, cut down the stock, and get some low-recoil buckshot. And keep your targets close. Somebody else already mentioned it was part of a far larger bill, so I'll leave that alone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violent_Crime_Control_and_...
