As I understand it, this one is false:

19: Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) thinks that a concealed carry permit will not help prevent personal crime. That's why she has one.

From anything I have seen, Feinstein no longer has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Of course, saying that she has a permit to carry a concealed weapon and believes that doing so will not "help prevent personal crime" is about as meaningful as saying she has a permit to carry a concealed weapon and believes the earth is spheroid.

Feinstein did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon to help prevent personal crime.

She had a permit to carry a concealed weapon to help prevent POLITICAL crime.

And this kind of misrepresentation of Feinstein is disrespectful to her, to people for whom she is a voice on many important matters or at least for whom she is part of a bulwark against Republicans run wild, and of course to the memories of George Moscone and Harvey Milk.

But we won't be expecting it to end anytime soon in the Guns forum.

(And don't mistake me -- I'm not a liberal, and I would vote for Feinstein or pretty much any other Democrat, were I a US voter, only with nose pinched, but I'd do it as one of those "strategic votes" we Canadians are so practised at: sometimes, ya gotta vote for the lesser of two evils, when there's no viable genuinely progressive choice.)
