3. Sadly, many will mistake the native bowfin or dogfish
for the snakehead. They look quite a bit alike. People are forever bringing bowfins into the DNR, thinking they're snakeheads. Sad, because the bowfin has been a native resident of many waters for tens of millions of years. Along with the sturgeon, they're a living fossil, and it would be a shame to destroy them by mistake.
