2. During Carter's Last Term Our Trade Balances with other countries Was Equal
The trade balance was slightly positive and we were the world's largest creditor nation. After eight years of Reagan we became the worlds largest DEBTOR nation. We now have a negative trade balance of over $700 billion. If this money remained in this country there would be less unemployment. A wild guess would be that for each $100,000 that stayed in this country 1 more worker would be employed. If we extrapolated that into $700 billion, there would be 7 million more people employed.
