I know what you're saying. I am not from a privleged background, and neither was my ex-husband. It just so happens I married someone who was from another country, which makes such a move thinkable, whether or not it's feasible.

As far as dignity...I could be on welfare if my family didn't help me out...so while working a garden and taking care of my kids is a good thing, it doesn't pay the bills.

Part of my problem with a job is an accident of geography. I live in a place where people with grad level degrees work as waiters sometimes.

I have to make my own job in order to survive here, and Bush makes me think that any planning is crazy as long as he's in office...planning that involves any long-term financial committment...and since they "forgot" to fund the SBA...
